Field Work

Mowing

We mow fields from 1/4 of an acre up to and larger than 50 acres with rotary or flail mowers.  We typically cut to a height of 4 inches to support pasture health.  We will cut to the height you specify.  We recommend cutting fields and pastures at least 2 times per year to  support pasture health, keep weeds under control, and mitigate fire risk in the late summer months.

Plowing

We have a  three bottom moldboard plow to “roll over” pasture or fields for seed preparation.    Typically pastures we renovate have been fallow for years, and as such have deep  established root growth.  "Rolling over" the pasture or field before renovation is necessary to get optimal results.

Disking

We have an eight foot tandem disk fitted with a nine foot rolling basket.  Disking is a great option for gardens and seed preparation.  We typically disk after rolling over a pasture with deep root growth to breakup the roots.

Rototilling

Garden Rototilling - We can build gardens from scratch or work up an existing garden as small as a few hundred square feet to an acre +.

Pasture Rototilling - During pasture renovation or prepping for cover crop we rototill large areas to breakup weed root structure and provide a better seed bed for planting.

Pasture Seeding

We can over-seed, or prep your field and “drill” seed with a John Deere 12 ft End Wheel grain drill.

We offer "No Till" seed drilling with a 7 ft. Sunflower Pasture Pleaser no till seed drill.  No Till seeding is a popular alternative to traditional pasture seed bed preparation, as there is no costly field preparation, however not every field is a candidate for no till.

Custom pasture renovation services are available upon request.

Garden

Bark, Gravel, or Dirt Spreading

Move dropped off material to the right spot in your yard.  We can haul material to your site or have larger amounts brought in with dump trucks and move the material into your yard or field as necessary.

Raised Garden Beds

Commonly referred to as “hilling”.  After rototilling we can create raised “hilled” beds for planting.  This is a very popular service.  Please visit the photo and video gallery to see completed garden beds.

Fertilizing

We can help spread fertilizer on larger gardens with a 600 pound capacity conical spreader.  Larger projects that require large amounts of fertilizer we arrange for the product to be delivered on site and use orchard spreaders to broadcast the fertilizer.  Our tractors are fitted with GPS guidance to provide optimum coverage.

Miscellaneous

Blackberry Removal

We cut or mulch your blackberries, or rip them out at the root, then dispose.  We can build burn piles, or transport the blackberries to the landfill.

Gravel Driveway Repair

We have a 6-foot power rake that is great for working up old driveways with imperfections and potholes. This equipment also does a general grading. We then follow it up with a 5-foot land plane for a finishing grade, and use our tractor bucket to compact the loose gravel.

If a fresh layer of gravel is necessary, we bring new rock in from local quarries, dump it evenly, and do another finishing grade with our land plane. This is followed by another pass with the tractor bucket to compact the ne

Debris Removal

We can remove and transport downed limbs or unwanted/unburned burn piles  to the landfill or recycle center.  We limit the burn piles to old slash piles.  We will not remove old construction debris piles full of nails etc.

Roadside Mowing

We have an offset flail shredder/mower to cut the slopes on road sides.  Please visit our video gallery to see our offset flail mower in action.   We also use flail mowers to cut larger areas along roadsides.

Ditch Bank Mowing

We have an offset flail shredder/mower to cut the slopes on ditch banks.   This mower will reach 6 feet down the bank.

Fence Line Clearing/Mowing

We have an offset flail shredder to cut blackberries and other vegetation from fence lines.

Dump Trailer Rentals

$40/day

$40/day plus mobilization fee.

We drop the  trailer at your location for you to fill.  Once trailer is ready to be  removed we will pick it up and take it to the appropriate landfill.   Invoicing will take place after landfill fees are known.  We will not  take tires and appliances.  Landfill fees are unknown until time of  service as they are determined by weight.  Trailer holds 16yds, 9,000lbs  of debris.  Outside outlet is required to keep trailer battery charged.

Landscaping

Northwest Tractor Services offer landscaping.

We focus on turf renovation around residential properties.  We also help clients requesting just the tractor work.  Call us to discuss your project and how we can help.

"Highly recommended. Travis and his crew were punctual and efficient. They absolutely transformed an ugly mess of a front yard. They implemented our sometimes challenging terrain and design ideas without batting an eye and got it all exactly how we'd hoped it could look. Price was very reasonable for how large our lot was and the "surprises" they had to deal with (buried concrete slabs). Hauled everything away and we are ready to seed our new yard! Thanks NW Tractor Services!"

"I cannot say how happy we were to have Travis and Keaton come out and remove juniper along driveway, by house, and our turn around. They also removed a lot of overgrown shrubs by the driveway entrance and by several dead trees. Our driveway was leveled, prepared, and gravel delivered and leveled. We are so much safer. The job was great! Our debris was chipped and moved to a safer spot. With all the fire activity; I am so glad that we had them come out! Professional job, done well, and great communication!"
